Sandany

A place that feels like you just found the hidden greenhouse restaurant of the Romanian grandma you didn't know you had. Sandany combines great traditional food, with attentive service and a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend checking it out! Prices are fantastic also, as you can get a lunch menu for 27 lei (as of June 2026).

Don't come here if you expect fancy plating or innovative cuisine. This restaurant does perfectly what it's good at: Delivering a homecooked meal experience.

Also, I love discovering those places that don't have an English menu.

Mancare buna

The best restaurant in Cluj by far and I am the type of person who always checks out the top 3 best restaurants in any town/city I go. I was taken here by a friend and fell in love with the place. The food is beyond excellent! The atmosphere is great all year round with the covered summer garden. The service is better than anything I've had in any Michelin stars restaurant I've eaten in. People are professional, normal (not "airs" of a great location), and they love to make you happy. I cannot recommend this place enough. I miss it every day, and I eat there and hold all my meetings there when I am in Cluj! You cannot beat the prices either - they are normal human being prices.
