Maia Brutăria Artizanală is a hidden gem in Cluj, especially if you’re a fan of artisan bread.
Their focaccia is absolutely outstanding—crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, with the perfect balance of flavors. It's easily one of the best I’ve had. Beyond that, their sourdough and pastries also live up to the high standards of a true artisan bakery.
The shop itself is cozy and unpretentious, with a clear focus on quality over flash. The staff is friendly and always happy to help you find the perfect bread or pastry for your taste.
If you’re in Cluj and love fresh, handmade bread, Maia Brutăria Artizanală is a must-visit, and their focaccia should definitely be at the top of your list!
A real original place in Cluj. Everything is good and fresh and very tasty. From bread to foccacia, from croissants to holly cannoli, and many more. A place to visit at least once.
Yesterday I discover this small cozy bakery.I brought some bread, rye, seeds bread and Baguette. Never I got such a good bread. The sourdough bread first time it wasn't sour at all.very balanced in the taste. The rye bread same quality like when you go to the north of Europe and the Baguette was incredible. First time I find outside of France a Baguette with this high quality.
Very nice and cozy bakery with lots of freshly baked goods. The employee was very friendly and answered our questions about the bread.
We bought bread, a baguette and some croissants. Everything was soooo good and fresh, the baguette was very crispy and the croissants were flaky. They also serve coffee from Hot Pipes, which is my favorite coffee in town. The place also sells products for a cheese board, including cold cuts.
The bakery is a bit on the pricier side, as a croissant was 12 RON (~2.3€) and the bread was 28 RON (5.8€). If the price is fine for you, it's totally worth it.
This is a lovely place with very good looking products. If I didn't have a gluten intolerance I am sure I would have left with a bag full of fresh and crunchy sourdough pastry, bread and tartes :)
The have a wide array of other products for cooking or eating, mainly from Italy or Spain and many of them BIO or Ecologic labeled including:
my favorite olive oil - multiple award winning Rincon Subbetica from Spain
gluten free pasta
Olives
Capers
Pasta sauces
Cheese
Amazing wines
I sure hope that in the future they will introduce in their offer at least one type of sourdough gluten free bread or other products.
